Polishing
Hi All - I don't know if anyone has posted this before, but I just learned something by accident. After sanding the putty from an AFX VC-10, I started wiping up the residue wih a small terrycloth towel (about 12" x 12"). I started to rub the fuselage vigorously and lo and behold, the plastic started to shine!! On further experimentation, I found this method will also get rid of very fine scratches (I suppose it's the friction). In addition, it puts a sheen to the putty. However, if I may make a suggestion - go ASK your left-seater (pilot-in-command) if you can have an old wash cloth or an old towel that you could cut up FIRST!! Now maybe you won't have to pull out the plastic polish to shine up that fuselage or wing leading edge.
